History UnErased
The mission of History UnErased is to bring LGBTQ history into all classrooms to create a more just and harmonious world. Most of us grew up in public or private schools that taught us nothing about queer history, a silence that denies a heritage of robust contributions to society. From poets to conquerors, farmers to astronauts, inventors to artists, queer people have been, and are, everywhere. History UnErased has created and offers supplemental educational programs for K-12 students to explore and learn about LGBTQ history. The destruction of ignorance through education has proven to be a central pathway toward eradicating homophobia. https://www.unerased.org/

Justin Trudeau
The Monette-Horwitz Trust is pleased and honored to announce Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as this year’s deserving recipient of our Ally Award. Making history on November 28, 2017, PM Trudeau made a formal and heartfelt apology to LGBTQ2 people of Canada for all of the wrongdoings and crimes perpetrated by the Canadian government against queer people. Perhaps for the first time in world history the leader of a country apologized publicly for the past persecution, discrimination, and wrongful incarceration of innocent Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Two Spirit people. Thank you, Justin, for setting an example of how leaders of the free world can be. In his honor, donations have been made to two Canadian groups: TwoSpirited People of Manitoba, Inc., and 2-Spirited People of the First Nations, Toronto
